Feadship secures China Superyacht order

Feadship secures China Superyacht order

Feadship has recently announced the sale of a 45m superyacht to a Chinese client, the yacht shall be based on the M.Y. Helix, a F45 Vantage Series which was recently presented at the Hainan Rendez-vous in April earlier this year.

The Feadship custom-series F45 yacht is the result of many years of research & development and extensive shipbuilding experience. It has been designed for clients seeking Feadship quality in a ‘midsize’  yacht without the high initial purchase costs and invest of time required for a custom project. This F45 custom-series yacht is also ideal for new to yachting owners who are seeking a simplified approach to building and owning a superyacht.

The Feadship F45 boats greater speeds, reduced fuel consumption, lighter interiors, higher ceilings, more watersports, new-generation technologies and design than most similarly sized superyachts. Feadship have now delivered a global fleet of over 200 vessels and established itself as one the industry major shipbuilders, renowned for its quality construction and timeless designs.

“[The sale] follows a highly successful visit by the Feadship Helix to the Hainan Rendez-vous in April, where we welcomed many interested parties on board,” Francis Vermeer, Marketing manager for Feadship stated.  “Opening up new markets requires that people can see and feel for themselves the difference between a yacht and a Feadship. We are honoured that one of those visitors has chosen to be a pioneer for his country and place the first exclusive superyacht order for the People’s Republic of China.”

The yacht M.Y. Helix recently cruised Asia on a tour during the Boat Show season and although this sale may not represent the start of a rush from the hugely profitable potential that China offers, it is a very positive sign that the Asian yacht market is developing and superyachts are selling.

This reasonably swift sale during Feadship’s first tour of Asia is significant and confirms the perceptions that the Chinese superyacht market could reap massive profits but is  slowly progressing. Most shipbuilders and marketeers are positive towards this sector howver remain realistic of expectations and the demand for good value purchases in the current economic climate.
