It was clear to see why Six Senses Phuket Raceweek was voted Asia’s Best Regatta in the 2011 Asian Boating Awards. The week had everything on both the sailing and hospitality fronts.
This year the event attracted sailing personalities Dee Caffari and Paul Larson. Dee was sailing on Six Senses Nina and Paul Larsen, (who is attempting to set the ‘Outright World Speed Sailing Record’) sailed on DaVinci during the Regatta.
Dee Caffari said during the week, “This is my first time in Phuket, first time in Thailand and first time in Asia. And I’m loving it.” “I’m loving the Regatta, it’s a really good atmosphere. It’s great to see so many boats on the water. The sailors are happy, the resort is beautiful. We’re getting in some great sailing and I am enjoying the sight seeing as we sail around the islands.”
