Cafe de L’Homme Paris

Cafe de L’Homme Paris

By the Musée de l’Homme, a magic place with an exclusive setting in front of the Eiffel to tower.

Paris is only for your eyes: Its high lights, its rumors, its smells. Take your time to relax; the atmosphere is world class and intimate. Come and enjoy our specialties, with your friends or family.

This restaurant is a ‘must do’ for anyone visiting Paris, with sensational views across to the Eiffel Tower. it does get very busy so reservations are a must.

Café de L’Homme is rich with history for a number of reasons. It is in the Musée de l’Homme located at the Palais de Chaillot, place du Trocadéro, in front of one of the most famous structures in the world, the Eiffel Tower. But the story goes a little deeper with two of the three partners running the place, Coco and Virginie: they are the great-granddaughters of Gustave Eiffel himself. Every day they can admire the monument which often symbolizes France, built by their ancestor. At lunch or dinner, the 300-meter grande dame will salute you if you are seated on the terrace; unfortunately, it is not visible from the vibrant, kitschy dining room. Under the guidance of the third partner, Christophe Bonnat, newer to the team, the cuisine has improved and the establishment has evolved into more of a restaurant than a café. The menu is composed of light, seasonal dishes, executed with simplicity. Start with the crab cake served with avocado tartare, a morels napoleon, foie gras on Poilâne bread, tomato gazpacho, or the Caesar salad. In the evening, the seared tuna, sole meunière, salmon teriyaki, rack of lamb, pork ribs with honey, or chicken tandoori will shine under the glittering stars of la Tour Eiffel, which alights hourly. The pastas are also a nice option; ask for the special of the day or try the shell pasta with Beaufort cheese, ham and truffle sauce. Apropos for its location, you will find a cheese plate composed exclusively with French cheeses. Same goes for the wine list, with a selection of only French wines starting at €28. End your meal with the waffle, so light you could enjoy two, and the chocolate cake. Or opt for the cheesecake or raspberry macaroon. Among the famous guests seen there are Bill Clinton, and Tony Parker and his wife, Eva Longoria. This is far from a tourist trap, and after a visit you will be eager to return (do insist on the terrace).

** our recommendation is for sunset cocktails on the terrace !
